On May 2nd 2009, the Reedy River Duck Derby celebrated its 5th Anniversary, with the biggest and most successful race to date. 10,000 Rubber ducks were released into the Reedy River at the Main Street Bridge where they raced their way over the falls in Greenville's Falls Park and paddled to the finish line below the Liberty Bridge towards great prizes for their "adopters" all while raising money for local and Rotary charities!
The Rotary Club of Greenville Evening is proud to announce it will move forward with another spectacular race on May 1, 2010 with the goal of racing 10,000 ducks over the falls benefiting local charities including Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality Network (GAIHN), Mauldin Miracle League (MML), and Ready4Reading. We will also support Rotary International Charities including Polio Plus and World Hunger. We intend this race to be our biggest and best yet.
By inviting local charities and church groups to participate as Buck A Duck Groups, we have given these groups a vehicle to earn money for their projects.
